An Adventurous Life |
Eddie's Lounge was my Jazz venue and music circle in DOWNTOWN, TOKYO. As leader of his organization I served as founder, chief administrator, program developer and coordinator, and also oversaw the development of three of our brick and mortar shop's culinary programs. Our music circles attracted 1000s of musicians from all parts of Japan and abroad, providing many with their first experience performing authentic East Coast Style Jazz organ groove music as well as participation in an American style music collective. In the tradition of many of the clubs that I got my start playing at in the U.S., funky/groovy Philly soul was played between sets. We also served traditional Japanese "soul food" and served as a place where people met and forged close friendships, also contributing to the local community through participation in local festivals. Many of our players went on to make greater names for themselves and a few even tied the knot. Thank you for your support over the years.
