modular learning system explained

How modular learning works...

(This is page two of the LESSON section of my website.)
Modular Learning  allows you to work through each lesson at your own rate on a step-by-step basis.   The lesson is spread out over a week to two week basis, during which time you receive support and interaction throughout the learning process.
FAQ

1.  What's the difference between a video lesson and modular learning?
With a video lesson, you're playing for time.  Modular lessons are based on activity and content, therefore, they're more centered on your goals.   In addition, in a video lesson you do not have time to work on the material and practice it off the clock.

2.  So is this basically this is a type of self study system?
No!  You're working directly with the teacher; however, you have time to explore the concepts and preprare your assignment between the deifferent phases of the lesson.

3.  What is a typical assignment I may receive?
It depends on your level and what you're working on,  The basic pattern is established in your free trial lesson, but typically you're given some information and asked to do something, you do it, you receive corrections and feedback and are asked to do it again, you do it, then you receive your final round of feedback, corrections and suggestions for follow up.

3.  What is the feedback like?
The format of the feedback varies. You might get a PowerPoint Presentation or YT video in return, an edited document, audio files... whatever is necessary to get the point across.  At times, a realtime SKYPE phone conversation may be nececessary. You'd then be given a follow up assignent so you can put the information to practice and get further guidance.

4. Wait, do each of the steps count as a single lesson?   That would be rather expensive, wouldn't it? No, that's the point.  You are charged $20.00 for the entire module.  The module encompasses the entire process from the initial assignment to the final feedback.

5.  How long should it take to complete the module?
Each module is a day by day process. Ideally you should be able to work through it over the course of a week, but the system is meant to accomoate both the teacher and students' schedule.  As a reuslt, you have up to two weeks to complete the module.

6.  Do you use SKYPE video?
Skype is possible, but I don't recommend it due to the low-fi quaity and frequent connection probelms that come with the technology.  Instead, I prefer to send PRIVATE HD videos via You Tube.

7.  How long are the lessons?
Modular lessons aren't based on time, they're based on steps.  (Please scroll up and refer to the column.)  This relates to antoher great benefit of the systm:  No lost lessons due to sudden sickness or cancellations, and you don't have to study when you don't feel like it.
